Yesterday saw a successful day’s work with great progress made. Today, we’ve been installing the segments on the second wheel and completing the associated welding work, ready for their testing tomorrow and an MCA inspection.
Following yesterday’s work on fitting the shafts and couplings, today and tomorrow will see the fitting of the segments to the ferry’s drive wheels and the preparation of the ferry for MCA and insurance sign-off later this week, prior to the planned tow back to Dorset.
Work has been continuing throughout the weekend and today at the repair facility in Southampton. The engineer from the Swedish component manufacturer is on site to provide expert guidance during these final stages of the repair.

We are pleased to announce that we can now take payments for credit and debit cards at the toll boxes on the Studland side of the crossing and at the Northaven box (the blue hut on the Poole side).
